Find Unique Museums & Attractions
As you walk through downtown Ellenville, you’ll find places that tell its history, going back to the late 1700s. The centuries are showcased at a cluster of museums and historic venues, including Ellenville Public Library's Terwilliger House Museum, parts of the historic landmark D&H Canal, Cragsmoor Stone Church, and the George and John R. Hunt Memorial Building.
Beyond the village borders, in the town of Wawarsing, you’ll also find the Greenfield Park Museum in an authentic one room schoolhouse, the Quaker Meeting House Museum, and the new Wawarsing Historical Society and Knife Museum, which contains a collection of knives, swords, and artifacts dating back to before the Civil War.
Ellenville may be small, but the performing arts have a large presence at Shadowland Stages, a venue for professional entertainment, featuring members of Actors' Equity Association. This Art Deco gem, built in 1920, presents its season June through December, with productions of drama, comedy and classics.
